This new 20-inch wide torsion spring skidframe has been designed to improve handling, stability and deep snow capability. It has two 40mm high pressure gas shock absorbers to better control damping forces. Ride comfort is improved and bottoming is reduced. Even the flip-up rail was changed to improved reverse function in deep snow, making it easier to back up when you need to.

The primary purpose of the new 20"" x 156"" x 1.375"" Ripsaw track with 2.86"" pitch is to improve deep snow floatation and pulling force. Where high-lug mountain trackes do performe well in deep snow, they are not good in the low-speed or high-load situations that utility sleds often function in.

Extroverts are designed to make sure the power from the Genesis 4-stroke is always put to the ground. They reduce track ratcheting, especially in the high load situations that can be produced by the 20" wide track.

Designed to provide more floatation and improved maneuverability, these new skis are almost 2-inches wider than the old utility ski. The combination of the shape of the keel and bottom of the ski help aid stability. The extra width provides the front end more lift with reduced steering effort. Rear suspension settings were modified to strike a balance between floatation, maneuverability and ski traction so that the RS Viking Professional perfoms better regardless of the snow depth or conditions.

With the taller lug track and new skid-frame there is more traction available. The clutch setting have been modified to improve pulling force to take advantage of the increased traction and also to further reduce belt wear under high-load situations.

The new rear carrier eliminates the plastic covers to reduce weight and improve tie down points.

These metal passenger foot rests are a low-profile design. They offer more leg-room and allow more flexible placement of the passengers feet. They are also serrated to allow excellent grip for the passenger's boot.

New extrovert front sprocket is now a single piece as opposed to the older two piece design. The outcome is increased durability with reduced track noise and vibration.

The lightweight uncoupled "Pro Mountain Air" rear skid frame uses two specially designed Fox Float air shocks to eliminate the need for heavy torsion and coil springs. Fox designed the FLOAT 2 XV with an added cylinder for extra air volume, which essentially increases the spring rate capacity of the shock.

The approach angle is an amazing 18-degrees, which will help with traction, floatation and the sled's ability to carry forward momentum. Yamaha Apex SE - 2013

Yamaha's EPS system is high-tech and super lightweight, requiring no fluids or heavy pumps. It is a dynamic system that monitors vehicle speed, engine rpm and the rider's steering input to calculate the optimum amount of steering assistâ€¦ more at low speeds and less at high speeds. EPS accomplishes a few things. Primarily it decreases steering effort making the machine feel lighter. But EPS also helps limit negative feedback coming through the skis. And since steering effort can be more easily controlled, different ski and runner combinations can be used with little impact on steering effort. The right combination of EPS, suspension geometry, ski and runner, allow the new Apex to carve through turns with incredible precision and minimal effort.

Yamaha's EXUP System utilizes a titanium body and butterfly valves that prevent the "blow back" phenomenon caused by valve overlap. This design reduces weight and eliminates "flat spots" in the power band while reducing emissions at the same time.

Yamaha's lightweight CF die cast aluminum frame provides exceptional rigidity and balance. The new rear frame was designed to accommodate the shortened muffler to further enhance mass centralization.

The new Apex engine received many modifications to improve power output and control, including a new air-box with modified intake funnels, revised intake cam timing, and new 38mmm 4-into-1 titanium exhaust with EXUP. These changes do increase peak power, but also dramatically improve throttle response and low-to-midrange torque.

We changed the lift angle of the intake valves from 104Â° to 109Â° increasing the overlap of the intake/exhaust valves which when combined with EXUP results in more power and a smoother power delivery.

Lightweight forged aluminum pistons with a new dome shape for uniform combustion are very strong, yet lightweight, and reduce vibration while running quieter.

ISC ensures stable idle right after starting. Not only does it improve starting and idling stability, it also controls changes in idling speed to facilitate warm-up, with improved starting and idling performance at higher altitudes. ISC also incorporates EBRS = Engine Braking Reduction System.

Addition of a knock sensor adjusts the ignition timing to prevent irregular combustion. If lower octane fuel is used the ignition timing will automatically compensate by retarding the ignition timing to prevent knocking, to ensure consistent and reliable engine performance.

The shape and length of air funnels, along with the air cleaner have been designed to work in conjunction with EXUP for superior performance.

New 38mm titanium exhaust pipes form a 4-into-1 unit, tuned for improved power development at higher rpm. Larger diameter tubing combined with EXUP improves the efficiency of pressure waves from each cylinder that resonate inside the exhaust pipes, thereby improving performance in the medium and high rpm ranges. The new design uses shorter diffuser and moves the muffler further forward contributing to better mass centralization.

The trail-spec 8HV ski was designed specifically to work in conjunction with the EPS system. It's shape, keel and new runner are all designed to reduce resistance from the snow surface making steering more accurate to improve cornering performance.

The Apex SE boasts an all-new air suspension from Fox with Float 2 shocks up front, and the brand-new Fox Mega Float shock out back. Specially developed for the Apex SE, this air suspension eliminates all of the heavy coil springs. Because air shocks have adjustable non-linear spring rates, they typically provide improved anti-bottoming over their coil-spring cousins. However, spring rates and damping for these shocks were developed specifically for the new Apex to improve ride comfort and anti-bottoming, making the Apex SE more plush and more capable at the same time! The new 128 inch Ripsaw track is fully clipped and features extrovert drivers to eliminate ratcheting.

Charge your cell phone, plug in your GPS, or other electronic accessories to the standard automotive-style outlet. There's also an RCA-style plug near the left hand grip to power heated helmet visors or other small-plug accessories.

A lot of effort was spent improving ride comfort including wind protection. There's a new three-piece windshield, completely redesigned for more wind protection without compromising top speed performance. The side panels were also modified to improve airflow around the rider, extending the air envelope especially around the riders legs.

Industry exclusive Electric Power Steering drastically reduces steering effort and delivers unprecedented handling capabilities.

Built from the beginning as a sport touring engine, the fuel-injected, low-revving, high-torque Genesis 120FI boasts a six-horsepower gain with a five-percent increase in fuel economy over our carbureted version. Complete with a larger stator to crank out an additional 70 watts of electrical power.

The Genesis 120FI features the unique Engine Braking Reduction System. The system allows a small amount of air to pass through the fuel injection system when the throttle is released, giving riders a smooth "coast" feeling when they release the throttle.

In addition to standard readouts like speed, engine RPM, dual trip meters and a clock, you also get an oil trip readout which tracks when it's time for an oil change and fuel trip readout which displays how many miles you've gone since the fuel light came on.

The Deltabox II chassis creates a comfortable rider-forward posture. Ergonomic treatment is achieved by locating the handlebars and seated position high and forward on the chassis. With this positioning, the rider can go from sitting to standing and back again easily and comfortably. It also further centralizes the combined mass of sled and driver for razor-sharp handling.

With 40mm Aluminum HPG shocks, tri-cam pre-load adjuster, a control rod to adjust coupling, and rails tipped up 6 degrees right where a 121" skid would end, this new rear suspension offers adjustability and an adaptable footprint that combines unprecedented rough trail ride comfort with excellent off-trail capability.

Designed with a steeper pitch on the running board to improve ground clearance for off trail capability, and larger cutouts to help evacuate snow, the new lightweight tunnel on the X-TX provides more footing and less drag when the snow gets deep.
